The Adventure of Learning

The series "The Adventure of Learning” is a valid stepping stone for children who will learn about Italian, History and Geography in school. These subjects are made more attractive because seen through the eyes of likeable characters the reader can identify with. "The light of the water", the first book in the series, is a tale of the equinox through the ages, from ancient Greece to Rome, to Wales. It recounts the religious beliefs, the Sun cults and the sacrifices linked to it. A great and tantalizing adventure lived out by a group of children and their ever-present cat who will learn – and tell us – about the alternating of the seasons.

The ghosts of the Dunster castle

A new adventure awaits Stefano, Marco, Giampiero and Carlotta. The four friends, together with their beloved mascot, Wizard Little the cat, are going to travel as far as the Dunster Castle, England.

The two of them time-travel with the children to Edgehill, and let them witness the first battle of the English Civil War. The children learn a lot of interesting facts about the King and the English Parliament; they see how generous Lady Joan de Mohun was and go back home inspired and truly happy!

Stefano, Marco, Giampiero and Carlotta are about to experience the most enthralling of adventures. Along with Little Wizard, a clever and amusing but a little cowardly cat, they pay Lorena, Stefano’s sister, a visit at the library where she works. The young girl shows them a great hall of wonderful and magic paintings. Sure enough, getting closer to one of them, the children are drawn into it and begin their journey to discover the equinox. From the Solar System to the North Pole where they enjoy watching Little Wizard dealing with a group of seals, on to a remote town of the Roman Empire where they witness a ritual celebration of the god Mithras, only to end up in the Greek city of Eleusis, where Persephone rules unchallenged over the Day of the Equinox. Before finally getting home totally spent, they live one last adventure in an ancient Celtic village, where a very old druid unveils the secrets of long-forgotten beliefs about the upcoming night that marks the end of Summer and the beginning of Fall. An easy and reader-friendly way of learning what happens to the sun and earth on the equinox and how important the alternating of the seasons is for mankind throughout the ages.
